Resources are now available to help duty holders collect employee experience data.

Employee experience data forms part of the next audit which is due on 1 December.

There are two ways to collect employee experience data:

  • With the People matter survey
  • With your own employee experience survey.

People matter survey promotional resources

The People matter survey is run by the the Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC) each year. It helps public sector organisations understand employee wellbeing, culture, and performance.

In 2025, a shorter version of the survey is available to local government, libraries and universities for a fee. This shorter version focuses on gender equality. The survey helps organisations meet their reporting obligations under the Act.

Registrations for 2025 People matter survey for gender equality reporting closed on 14 March 2025.

Organisations registered to participate can find out more and download promotional materials.

Employee experience survey resources

Organisations running their own employee experience survey should use these resources to make sure they meet their reporting requirements:

  • practice note
  • employee experience question set
  • employee experience reporting template
