The Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector has launched its 2025–2028 Strategic Plan and Regulatory Approach. These key documents will guide our work over the next four years.
Our vision is a gender-equal Victoria where everyone, regardless of gender, is treated fairly and has the opportunity to thrive.
While fairness is a value many of us share, the systems we live and work in are still unequal. Gender inequality continues to show up. We see it in the gender pay gap, the underrepresentation of women in leadership, gendered workforce segregation, and experiences of sexual harassment.
To help drive lasting change, the Commission will strengthen its role as a leading practice regulator. We will set a higher bar for compliance with the Gender Equality Act. We will focus our efforts where they can have the greatest impact. That is, addressing the biggest drivers and impacts of gender inequality across the public sector.
The 2025-2028 Strategic Plan sets out the strategic pillars that will guide our work, the priority areas we will focus on, and the ways we will measure our success.
The Regulatory Approach outlines how we will perform as a leading practice regulator, detailing our regulatory principles, tools, activities, and enforcement approach.
Together, these documents demonstrate out commitment to transparency, leadership and partnership. Achieving a gender-equal Victoria is a shared responsibility, and we are proud to work closely with duty holders to realise this vision.
